Update: New German Employee Data Protection Regime – Next Steps in the Legislatory Process

Oliver Zöll & Stefan Kujat

The signs of a new law (Sections 32 – 32m BDSG) on employee data protection possibly passing the German Parliament soon are further increasing: The German Lower House of Parliament’s (Bundestag) Committee of the Interior (Innenausschuss) has been asked by the Government to put the new draft on its agenda for Wednesday, January 16, 2013. The next step would be the reading in Parliament, possibly at the end of the month.
